BASIC Campus Outreach

campusIn the last week of August 2015, four college students began the first BASIC (Brothers and Sisters in Christ) chapter at Roberts Wesleyan College. The purpose of BASIC is simple: to be disciples of Christ. In the Bible, the disciples were always in the presence of Jesus, learning from Him, ministering with Him, and seeing lives changed. We want to experience the same relationship with Christ through Bible study and prayer. The exciting thing is, the Favor of God has been evident in this process since day one! Before the first day of classes, the student organization constitution was written, a faculty advisor was chosen, and the group was pre-approved by the Dean of Student Activities. Within the first week of classes, 200 invite cards were handed out at the school activities fair, and posters were hung throughout the campus. As a result, 15 students and 4 officers met for the first meeting. One student excitedly stated: “I have been counting down the days until this meeting!” There is much excitement on campus about this group! The prayers of so many at WOL have contributed to the blessings seen by this BASIC group. Please continue to pray for deeper relationships in Christ and further discipleship opportunities on campus!
