Opportunity to Serve

Posted: Tuesday, July 13th, 2010 at 6:10 pm

by Mike Slocum

Do you remember the outreach to Cameron House last year? If you attended and would like to do so again this year, the opportunity is soon coming up. If you did not attend last year and wish that you had taken part, you will have the chance to do so this year.

On August 8, 2:30 P.M., Agape Plesion will be going to Cameron House located at 48 Cameron Street in the city. The purpose of this outreach is to provide a way for us at Word of Life Christian Fellowship to live out our faith and make connections with Cameron neighbors by serving food and sharing in worship. This involves preparing and serving food along with cleanup. There will also be a time for worship and a short message.
You will hear about more details when the time is closer.

Bible School this Fall

Posted: Tuesday, July 13th, 2010 at 5:58 pm

by Harry Vellekoop

This fall we will be launching an in-church Bible school. While there are also plans for an adult Sunday School program to begin soon, the Bible school will be a much more in-depth and systematic approach to studying the Bible and Bible-related courses. The purpose of the school is not simply to gain more Bible information, but rather to experience more Christ-like transformation.

Many details remain to be worked out, but currently the plan is for one evening class per week (Thursdays) for 16 weeks (a semester) both in the fall and spring. The courses will require a small tuition charge, textbooks, assignments and regular attendance. We hope to be able to arrange for child care for an additional minimal cost. Arrangements are in the process for these courses to be recognized by Elim Bible Institute.

As details develop, more information will be forthcoming. Right now we want to make those of you who might be interested aware of this opportunity so you can begin making plans well in advance. The maxim is true that “A taught church is a strong church.” I would like to challenge every adult not to consider if you ought to participate, but rather to consider why you would not participate?

Current plans are for the class to begin on Thursday, September 9. The times for the class are 6:45 P.M. – 8:00 P.M.

Rev. Robbie Evans

Posted: Saturday, March 6th, 2010 at 8:24 am

Rev. Robbie Evans, a prophetic missionary from Mexico, will be with us at 10:00 A.M. March 14, 2010 during our regular morning worship service. Many of you will remember him from last year. He is an international conference speaker who ministers with an accurate prophetic anointing, bringing forth teachings from the depth of the Word of God that leads the believer to delight in the knowledge of God and to have intimacy with Him.

Rev. Evans will again share with us at 6:00 P.M. Since this date is also known as National Pi Day because of its numerical significance (3.14), we will have a time of pie and coffee following this service. So, plan to join us for this special service and bring a pie to share for a time of fellowship.

Update: Listen to Rev. Evans’ morning sermon.
