Those of you who know me understand that warm weather is my favorite. Therefore as we head into spring, I say, “Praise God.” Of course we are also coming to the Easter Season. Jesus is alive, risen and ascended. Many saw him as we read in Acts 1:3, ” After his suffering, he showed himself to these men and gave many convincing proofs that he was alive. He appeared to them over a period of forty days and spoke about the kingdom of God.” Also referenced in 1 Corinthians 15:3-7, “For what I received I passed on to you as of first importance: that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, that he was buried, that he was raised on the third day according to the Scriptures, and that he appeared to Peter, and then to the Twelve. After that, he appeared to more than five hundred of the brothers at the same time, most of whom are still living, though some have fallen asleep. Then he appeared to James, then to all the apostles.”
One of the things we can rejoice in is that Jesus came and was real flesh. Many saw him and he did not hide out. His resurrection was not a rumor or a story, at one time over 500 of the brethren saw him. Our faith is based on a fact not a tradition or a nice story. Many saw him and rejoiced. He is risen indeed.
