The 4pm prayer meeting on December 14, 2008 has been cancelled.

One of the highlights of the last few months has been the “Laugh Your Way to a Better Marriage” DVD series my wife and I hosted at our home early this fall. Including my wife and I, seven couples went through the sessions together. We finished it off with my wife cooking a dinner for all of us. Although we laughed quite a lot at the sessions there were many truths to help us in our marriages. Also, just taking the time away from it all as couples was rewarding. Some of
the couples made it their date night of the week. When couples where asked to make comments at the end of the event these are some of them. “It helps you really understand how your spouse thinks. Very practical yet totally funny!” “We all laughed a lot but underneath the fun was a very strong and sincere teaching of how to understand our differences for a better and closer relationship to each other and to the One who put us together.” My wife and I will be hosting this session again for 5 weeks starting on Friday January 2nd in the New Year. Let me encourage you to set it aside on your calendar and come and be blessed.

Another highlight of the fall has been the beginning of our new leadership team. This includes anyone who oversees a ministry of the church. Each session is different. It opens up with a teaching or ministry time followed by discussing issues in the church. At our last session we watched a John Maxwell tape on leadership. Everyone is enjoying this new
team as we tackle issues in the church with a broader base of leadership.

As I write this article we are just a few days from Thanksgiving and Christmas is around the corner. May the Lord give you a great holiday season and a tremendous New Year.

The last dress rehersal for the children’s Christmas play is on Wednesday December 10 from 6 pm through 8 pm.  It is very important that everyone be there.
